Infertility affects millions of people yet it can be a very lonely experience.
Even though 1 in 7 couples experience some difficulty getting pregnant, the road we travel can be isolating, emotionally painful and financially straining. Most women tell us that their family, friends and co-workers don't really understand what they are going through.
Feeling isolated as time passes and you're still not pregnant?
Feeling even more isolated when you choose not to share this very private and personal experience?
Feeling like you have failed because you have met every other goal you have set for yourself?
We get it because we went through it, too. You are not alone - these are very common reactions to infertility.
We opened the Fertility Counseling Center of South Florida to provide a full menu of supportive services to couples dealing with infertility. Our professional team truly understands the complex physical, emotional and financial issues. We received specialized training in the field of mind-body medicine, which has been clinically proven to reduce the symptoms of anxiety, sadness, depression and stress.
This is significant for women dealing with infertility because studies show they can have stress and depression levels equal to women going through treatment for cancer. Stress, sadness and other feelings you might be experiencing are common. The network of professionals we work with have years of training and experience and offer services designed to help you during and after infertility.
We want you to know that you don't have to deal with infertility alone. We can help you get through this difficult time.

Elise was a guest on WLRN's Topical Currents on August 19, 2008. She discussed women's risk of depression during infertility and how support groups such as Resolve and professional coping skills workshops like the Mind Body Program offered here at the Fertility Counseling Center can help reduce anxiety and depression and help women regain a sense of control.
